The traffic-stopping red lights at Two Urban Licks in Atlanta, GA
This season’s color palette was taken straight out of a hip Atlanta restaurant that I recently visited. Two Urban Licks, a relatively new establishment, is one of the ATL’strendiest places to dine and listen to live jazz.
Once a warehouse, this popular restaurant is very contemporary and spacious. However, the red, gray and brown color scheme, gives the space a warm, welcoming feel --even though the restaurant still has ‘warehouse’ elements such as high ceilings, concrete floors, an exposed ceiling and large windows.
I think the restaurant’s best design element, is the group of lighting fixtures that hang together over one of the eating areas. All dressed in ‘autumn red’ fabric, these fixtures have several different shapes. It makes a very dramatic statement. And that’s something you can do at home in your dining room.
Pictured below are a few spaces inspired by the contemporary fall colors of Two Urban Licks -- and if you’re ever in Atlanta, check out this restaurant!Besides the fabulous décor, the servers are really friendly (southern charm, here) and the food is excellent. I recommend the ‘salmon chips’ for starters.
