Room For Color
I can’t believe it’s been a year since my home office {aka my Mom Cave} was featured in Apartment Therapy’s Room For Color contest!
Since then, I’ve had so many opportunities to inspire other busy women and moms to carve out a space of their own. It continues to be a wonderful blessing!
Well, over at Apartment Therapy, it’s that time again and the Room For Color Contest 2010 is in full swing. This contest offers an incredible wealth of color ideas, so check it out and be inspired {and vote for your fave}! Here is a sampling:
{Natalie’s Periwinkle and Orange Room}
{Ashley and Kevin’s ‘Kind of Blue’ Dining Room}
{Joanna’s ‘Cranberry Haze’ Living Room}
{Terri’s ‘Everything But The Kitchen Sink’ Room}
{Jen’s Motley Missoni Bathroom}
Here’s to colorful spaces everywhere, and to the courageous people who create them!

Christmas 2010: Blue and White
I know…Thanksgiving isn’t even here yet, but the Holiday Season begins in about a month. Blue is on-trend again this year. This time, it’s beautiful sky blues and royal blues being paired with winter white.
I just received the most beautiful holiday catalog from RSH, and I wanted to share their gorgeous photos with you. Plenty of blue and white eye-candy for Christmas and beyond!
Giveaway: Pink For The Cure
CONTEST CLOSED
This time of year, the leaves are turning into various shades of red, yellow, orange and brown — but please don’t forget that the color pink also marks the month of October.
To support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I’ve teamed up with Chesapeake Bay Candle to offer you a very special giveaway.
One winner will receive two candles from the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Collection designed by Chesapeake Bay Candle, which donates $1.00 to Komen from each candle sold. This is an opportunity for you to receive these candles, and perhaps even give one to a friend or relative.
The winner will receive one Vanilla Rice Flower scented candle, and one White Peach Bamboo scented candle. Both are large, jar-filled candles {as shown in the photo above on the left}.
Here’s How To Enter: Simply leave a comment on this post that says: “Pink For The Cure.”
That’s it! Please note that there may be a time delay in seeing your posted comment.
Contest ends Friday, October 22 at 5:00 pm EST. The winner will be chosen using Random.org. Winner will be announced October 24 in a post on this blog. The winner will have 72 hours to respond, and if fails to do so, a new winner will be selected.
Important: You must be at least 18 years-old to enter. This contest is open to addresses in the USA.
Thanks for entering and supporting Breast Cancer Awareness!
Autumn Dessert Table Ideas
Attention Fab Fall Party People! In this post, I’m sharing photos of my Autumn and Thanksgiving Dessert Tables!
Not only are these tables infused with a surprise pop of blue, but they also feature my new Autumn Printables.
The hues were inspired by a vintage quatrefoil pattern. I digitally enhanced the print and used it to design the printables. I love the unique variations of the pattern, and blue is a fun, unexpected color to use in autumn decor.
Orange burlap makes a great backdrop and tablecloth, and you’ll see I displayed cupcakes two different ways: on a cake plate with a mini-pumpkin tower in the center {above}, and…
on a small bale of hay {which you can get at the craft store}. The candy corn topiaries are a take on my baby shower topiaries. This does take a huge dose of patience and hot glue…but since Halloween candy is now on sale, why not try it?
For the base, I used those gorgeous colbalt-blue Saratoga water bottles. LOVE the way they turned out!
These Dessert Tables are perfect for Thanksgiving or Autumn birthdays. I hope you were inspired!

Tantalizing Teal
When New York Fashion Week wrapped up a couple of weeks ago, Teal was one color that created a buzz.
{Designs by Tracy Reese; Betsey Johnson; Prabal Gurung}
Typically, the color teal is a medium to deep blue-green. Teal has started appearing on the home front as a slightly different and deeper alternative to the ever-popular turquoise.
Teal is such a great, relaxing color for your home — especially for those of you who prefer richer hues. Teal is serene but not washed out. I love pairing it with contrasting hues such as red, pink, yellow, orange and warm-green.
