It’s Time To Celebrate Fall!
This year, I’m celebrating Fall by sharing simple, colorful and inexpensive ways to decorate your home and yard for upcoming parties!
All of these ideas feature our new printable ‘FALL Color Craze‘ Labels that come in six colors for mixing and matching…and you can download them for FREE at the end of this post!
First, is a look I call Autumn Global Glam. Lately, I’ve been so inspired by the colors of India, especially the color combo of orange and fuchsia. With the addition of orange pumpkins, this look is seasonal and a bit exotic, too. Love that!
{I found the Asian candle tower at HomeGoods.}
…And how about some Jack-O-Lantern Love? For this sweet display, I used candy corn but you can use any type of candy that fits your theme, colors, etc.
The mini jack-o-lanterns were $1 each at — where else — the Dollar Store. I used the yellow and burgundy FALL labels {you can get the scalloped edge by using Fiskars 2 1/2″ scalloped square punch}.
Moving on…here is a very easy way to create a Woodland Wreath with just a little splash of color:
Grapevine wreaths are filled with natural beauty and texture so you don’t have to over-embellish them. For an organic look, all you need is a colorful wreath hanger and you’re in business.
For this design, I layered orange and brown ribbon, and added FALL labels {no scalloped edge…just a straight cut to keep things simple}.
Next, create a gorgeous glow in your yard with a Colorlit Pathway:
This is a nice way to greet your guests and add warmth under an evening autumn sky.
To make these luminarias, place small votive candles in clear glass containers and place them in colored bags {you may also want to weigh down the bags with a little sand or pebbles}. I used crimson bags and tagged them with brown and burgundy labels.
Last but not least, here is my bonus idea for using those small pumpkins:
This is also a great idea for place card holders at the dinner table. Slit the pumpkin stems with a sharp knife and insert your label…very easy and your guests will think you are so clever!
I hope you’ve enjoyed these ideas, and I’d like to see yours, too! You can download the FALL Color Craze Labels HERE!
Celebrate Fall {Sneak Peek}!
Here’s a sneak peek at some really colorful and fun Fall Party ideas that I’ll be sharing with you soon! This is my favorite time of year, and it’s all about color. So, let’s celebrate!
Third Place Colors?
Did you know that some of the most popular, beautiful colors are considered third rate?
{CORAL by browndavis.com}
Well…not exactly. However, as it relates to the color wheel, tertiary colors — those hues that result from mixing a primary and secondary color — are technically in third place.
{TURQUOISE by HB via houseofturquoise.com}
Colors such as coral, turquoise, chartreuse and periwinkle are all tertiary colors, and I think these hues make the most beautiful statement when used in a room.
{CHARTREUSE by bhg.com}
{PERIWINKLE from housebeautiful.com}
You can read more about these colors in my latest story over at Sherwin-Williams STIR, which also includes some great insight by Erin Olson from House of Turquoise.
Red Hot Ideas
Look what I found at Marshall’s:
Marshall’s is definitely one of those places where you need patience to rummage through stuff, but every once in a while I find something perfect, like these red peep-toe pumps. Coincidentally, I just wrote a story over at Houzz.com about using the color red.
Just like a red dress, stilettos or peep-toe pumps, a red room can be elegant and sexy. This is a great color for a dining room where you want guests to be comfortable, attentive and ready for a lively conversation…
…and red is perfect in the bedroom because it is the color of love and passion. Also, why not paint your powder room red? Your home will have an element of surprise:
