Bathroom With A View

I snapped this photo of my bathroom window to show how outdoor landscaping decisions can affect indoor spaces.

It took a few years, but our Crape Myrtles have grown tall enough to provide us with privacy and an amazing view of big, beautiful  blossoms all summer long.

The sight of seasonal color can do wonders.  Those mornings when I have to drag myself out of bed and into the shower, its really nice to glance out the window and see pretty pink flowers waving in the wind.  It pays to plant with a purpose!

I love crape myrtles. I have now planted a total of four. I just love the blooms(kind of hot pink). They are also low maintenance trees. Love your view too:-)

That’s gorgeous! Such a pretty color combination too. Who needs a bouquet when you have that!

Amazing color-what is it? I recently did an exterior consult where the homeowner held up one of her favorite purple flowers to the color samples we were considering. She was amazed at how the different paint samples affected the flowers. Enjoy your beautiful bathroom!

You make such a good point! If you don’t have a great view — make one!

I have some clients who created a wonderful bathroom in their basement. Wish I could take credit for this, but it was before they met me. They created a space outside the bathroom with a skylight above it and installed a wonderful garden that is at the same height as the tub. The window is the entire width of the tub and goes from tub edge to ceiling. The entire window slides back into the wall so that they can sit in the tub and look at a beautiful garden. Your bathroom and theirs are both great examples of ways to create a good view even though you may not have a naturally occurring one.
