A Pink, Peach and Lilac Affair
One of my favorite event designs caught my eye six years ago.
OK, maybe it’s because I love lilac, but this darling decor still tops my list of faves. Featured in the Spring/Summer 2004 issue of Receptions from Bride’s magazine, I re-discovered it while flipping through some old publications.
I just think these ribbon-tied flower boxes are so adorable. What a great centerpiece idea for Mother’s Day, and your flowers don’t have to be expensive — mums and carnations work just fine!
If you’re planning a spring wedding, you certainly can’t beat this delicate color combination – and check out the cookie favors:

Wedding of Many Colors
This is one of the prettiest, most colorful weddings I’ve seen in a while, and I just think it’s terrific!

Designed by Paige One Events, this gorgeous wedding features a sizzling mix of vibrant colors and cultures.

The main colors are green, orange and fuchsia, with some blues and yellows mixed in. I love how the flower girls wore Japanese kimonos in different hues.

Latin and Indian cultures were also represented at this festive wedding. I think the super-colorful cupcake tower takes the cake! This is such a fun idea — using a variety of flavors, flowers and berries.

Why limit yourself to just one or two wedding colors when you can have a multi-colored celebration? This gorgeous wedding proves that, when it comes to color, more is magnificent!

Autumn Tablescapes

I love a lavishly decorated table. Even if it’s a look that appears to be out of my price range, I enjoy getting ideas from a ‘dream design.’ Then I’ll run to Target, the craft store, and the fabric store and re-create the look.

{Love the Moroccan feel of this one, and the turquoise accent fabric}

These awesome autumn-colored tables {ceremonymagazine.com} are full of great ideas for a Fall wedding or other celebration. A simpler version of any of these settings would make a beautiful Thanksgiving table. I feel a re-creation coming on…

{The decorative balls are made from yarrow.}

{You could easily make this tablecloth by applying grommets and adhesive beads to satin fabric}

{Thanksgiving will be here in less than two weeks!}
Celebrate {With} Color!
I get so much inspiration from colorful celebrations such as these designs featured in Ceremony magazine:

The setting above features bold, bright colors. LOVE the orange and fuchsia — and the flower appliques. Below, the design is more subdued with softer hues, but the look is still dramatic and fun thanks to delicious mint-green stripes and candy displays. And, of course, both floral centerpieces are amazing.

Professional designs like these can give us tons of ideas for colorful entertaining @ home!

Citrus Celebrations
Comprised of sunny yellow, tangerine, lime green and chartreuse — the citrus palette is as festive as it is colorful. Citrus-themed celebrations, such as the events pictured below, are sure to keep your guests in a cheerful mood:

Carolina-Blue Graduation Party
In just a couple of weeks my cousin in Ohio will graduate from high school. Then, in the fall she’s off to The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill — home of the Tar Heels.

So to recognize my cousin’s achievement, I’ve posted a few inspiration boards filled with wonderful things that she can use to create the super-chic party of all graduation parties! Her parents are hosting this event at their home and there will be a tent in the yard. So, I’ve included ideas for indoors and out. Note to my cousin: May I suggest the gummy rings because your younger brothers and cousins will love you for it!

These ideas would be terrific for anyone headed to college…just change the colors and gear to that of the school where you’ll be attending.

Graduating from high school is not the end; it’s just the beginning of a new chapter. So, be proud of yourself and celebrate with color and style!

Fun Colors
I’m really loving the fun, festive color trio of moss green, orange and blue…

…and I’m totally captivated by how these colors were used for this wedding, designed by In Any Event by Jodi Bos.

This spirited color palette would add a jubilant touch to any celebration.

Pictured below are a couple of inspired spaces using these terrific colors. How fun!

Pretty Paper Lanterns
As April ushers in May, bridal showers, weddings, graduation parties and Mother’s Day celebrations are all on the horizon.

If you’re planning a spring event, paper lanterns offer a beautifully basic way to add a burst of color to your occasion.

Paper lanterns are an affordable and elegant way to add a festive touch to your decor, and they’re available in a wide variety of colors and patterns. Select your paper lantern first and use that for your design inspiration.

If your event will feature colored lighting or if your space is painted with a great color, white paper lanterns will make a grand statement.

These days, the options for paper lanterns are endless. I love this red, white and blue trio (below). July 4th will be here before you know it!

Party In Pink

Hot pink and other deliciously vivid hues were the featured colors at this event {designed by Fandago Productions}. I love this design because it shows us that bright colors can be elegant and sophisticated.

With pink as the main attraction, this Pittsburgh country club was transformed into an exotic, fanciful birthday bash. Don’t shy away from using bold colors at your next event. Your guests will have a more memorable experience if the colors make a statement.
